Description
Minimally Invasive Surgical Aesthetic (MISA) treatments’ demand is rapidly rising in the Middle East region. Therefore, physicians are always looking for ways to update their knowledge and gain more confidence in applying such treatments. We are proposing a structured workshop offering our interested candidates a full understanding of the diagnosis and management in aesthetic treatments using Botulinum Toxin.
OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of the course, all the participants should be able:
- Know the aesthetic benefits of botulinum toxin type A
- Know the pharmacological properties of the different commercially available botulinum toxins
- Know the patient selection criteria
- Be prepared to communicate the benefits and risks of the treatment to the patient and obtain a consent
- Safely use cosmetic botulinum toxin type A in their practice
- Safe use for the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis
- Pre and post-treatment management of patients
- Adequate management of adverse events and complications management.
CERTIFIED COURSE, HANDS-ON AND ASSESSMENT:
DHA & KHDA CERTIFIED
The participant (GP & Specialists) needs to score 85% in an oral assessment, (45 min) and to present and submit 2 of the cases treated with botulinum toxin type A, which will be assessed and discussed with the faculty to be certified.

DAY 1
- Pharmacology and neurophysiological action of botulinum toxin type A
- Cosmetic and medical indications for botulinum toxin type A treatment
- Anatomy and neurophysiology of the facial muscles
- Patient assessment and consultation for botulinum toxin type A
- Treatment plan and injection techniques
- Specific techniques, Dosage and injection techniques
- Avoiding, managing and treating potential complications
DAY 2
Practical and hands-on component 4 hours / participant
The participants will be joined in groups of maximum five people
- Each participant will treat one patient, under supervision, with particular attention to:
- Patient assessment and problem diagnosis
- Treatment planning
- Dosage and dilution
- Injection techniques
- Perform the planned treatment
- Aftercare indications
- Hands-on – Preparing the botulinum toxin type A solution

Dr. Mario Trelles
Plastic Surgeon
MD and PhD, General Surgeon, Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon. American Board Diploma for Lasers in Aesthetic Surgery
Dr. Mario Trelles is a seasoned, highly recognised general surgeon and plastic aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. He is president of the European Society Laser Aesthetic Surgery (ESLAS), the Spanish Laser Society (SELMQ) and the European Laser Association (ELA). He is also a board member of the Laser Aesthetic Society of Cosmetic Surgeons (US).
On the academic front Dr. Trelles is a professor at the University Catolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome for postgraduate diplomas in Lasers in Dermatology, a visiting professor at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Masaryk, Brno, Czech Republic, and the director of Master programmes on Lasers in Medicine, College of Physicians, Barcelona, Spain.
Dr Trelles is the author of over 250 peer review articles, various books and numerous textbook chapters. He is also the international editor of the Dermatological Surgery Journal in the US. Additionally, Dr Trelles is the president of the board of trustees for the Foundation Antoni de Gimbernat, a non-profit organisation dedicated to research in medicine and is the director of the Instituto Medico Vilafortuny, Cambrils, Tarragona, Spain, a reference centre for academics in lasers in the European community.
Dr. Tarek Bayazid

Dr. Tarek Bayazid is a specialist Plastic and reconstructive Surgeon, who is practicing in the UAE with a reputation for excellence in all surgical procedures.
Dr Tarek Bayazid trained under many notable plastic surgeons in Europe & the US and well known for facial rejuvenation and high-definition body sculpting.
After receiving his MD from Belgrade University, Dr. Tarek Bayazid completed his plastic surgery residency at Clinical Center of Serbia.
As part of the academic faculty, he has been lecturing on topics such as Laser in aesthetics and hair removal and foundation and advanced courses in Botulinum Toxins ad Soft Tissue Fillers.
